"Music is playing inside of my head. Over and over and over again my friend. There's no end to the music......." Carole King

This week I was on furlough and so had some time to try a cover song of this beautiful John Prine song ‘Summer’s End’. The lyrics are so touching… “Just come on home, Come on home, No you don't have to be alone, Just come on home”… Playing my guitar and ukulele, with Bella, as always, by my side. During this stressful time, it’s good to find creative ways to rest and relax… creating something with music and art always takes me to a good place... and singing with a dog on my lap makes everything better. This is the song “Who Knows Where the Time Goes” written by Sandy Denny in 1967. I have always loved this song and it is especially meaningful during this time for me, I included photos and videos that Ray, and I have taken over the years of some of our favorite places. I hope that everyone finds ways to de-stress during this challenging time. #staysafe #stayhome #steadyon #friends #family As you know, the world faces a great challenge with the COVID19 virus. We are in uncharted territory and these are frightening, bewildering times.
Yet, we can make a difference in so many ways and try to let our love be creative and grow stronger than this virus. My local hospitals are in urgent need of masks, perhaps your Hospital is too. Please find out your local needs to see how you can make a difference. If you live in Sonoma County, Memorial Hospital and Petaluma Valley Hospital have an urgent need for masks. We need to keep our nurses, staff and doctors safe. Please see if you have any available masks that you can donate (surgical masks or N95 masks) You can drop them off at the drive-up donation bin located at Memorial Hospital or Petaluma Valley Hospital. (If you are local and cannot drop them off, let me know and I will find a way to pick them up) Contact me with any questions. It has been a few years since I tried to do a cover video....but I wanted to make a gift for my husband for our anniversary, this week.... This song is 'Lovesong', a beautiful song by The Cure from 1989. I sing it with love, for Ray.
Thoughts on this sunny afternoon….
Touch the sacredness of the present moment. Nourish that reality. It is all we have, and it is enough. Catch it, hold it, cradle it, and let it go. And the sun will rise and the day will end. The universe will continue to flow. The connection is more than the separation. Catch it, hold it, cradle it, and let it go. Funny how it all goes around. Catch it, hold it, cradle it, and let it go. Fill it with love, and release it back. Catch it. Hold it. Cradle it. Let it go. We lost a friend last week.
The world is a little less without her, but heaven has gained a big star. Rest in peace Lena and fly with the angels. Welcome 2019! I am thankful for all the love, lessons learned, experiences, laughter and joy that accompanied 2018. My heart is filled with gratitude for every moment. My wish for all is that 2019 be a year filled with light, love and peace.
Ray, Bella and I spent the morning at one of our favorite places, Bodega Bay. It is always a challenge to take photos with a dog tethered to you (even a small dog)...but it is so much fun as well... This video is more about Bella at the beach...She loves everything about the ocean (and she was completely safe the whole time....)
